My Story

A highly driven individual with a burning passion for art, design & storytelling combined with an entrepreneurial spirit. With a background of over 10 years of professional experience in VFX & CG production, Mike today runs his own studio Dark Haven.

As a 15 year old boy Mike discovered 3D graphics and knew right away where he was heading. With a big dream of creating creatures and robots for the entertainment industry he spent his entire teen years practicing and learning as well as being active in the community. He first started out creating illustrations for fun to later on in his years during high-school studies get involved in the game mod community, creating characters for several quake 3 mods and other indie projects.

2003 after Mike was finished with high-school he turned to freelancing. In 2005 he got picked up as a 3D artist by one of the most respected video games developer in the world Grin where he stayed until, sadly, the company went down. started out as a 3D generalist to in the end getting specialized in characters.

2009 and a new chapter in Mike’s life started. Mike wanted more than just create models for others. He needed to get more out of his creativity. Dark Haven studios was born. Even though the first years in its existing, the company was used for freelancing. As time passed by, Mike invested more in to Dark Haven and its internal project. Today Dark Haven is a production company ready to take on projects from pre-production all the way through post-production. Today Mike serves not only as a 3D generalist but also as a Creative Director/Director and VFX/CG production supervisor under his own brand.

2013 and Dark Haven studios launched its own store selling products with Mike’s illustration printed on them.

Looking back Mike have had the opportunity to have work with companies such as Net Entertainment, Nikon, Important Looking Pirates VFX, Hobby Film, Capcom, Ubisoft among others.
